Social Media Policy
Social Media Policy
At A New Thing Therapy PLLC, we understand the importance of maintaining clear and professional boundaries in therapeutic relationships, both in-person and online. This Social Media Policy outlines how we engage with social media and how your privacy is protected in these online spaces.
1. No Clinical Engagement on Social Media
We do not provide therapeutic advice, counseling, or clinical engagement through social media platforms. While we may use social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) to share general information, articles, or practice updates, it is not a medium for therapeutic communication. For any counseling-related matters, please contact us directly through phone or email to maintain confidentiality.
2. Protecting Your Privacy
To maintain your confidentiality and protect the therapeutic relationship, we do not accept friend requests or follow clients on personal social media accounts. Engaging with clients on social media can blur the lines of professional boundaries, so we avoid interactions that may compromise your privacy or the integrity of our work together.
3. Public Interactions
If you choose to engage with our practice on social media (e.g., by liking or commenting on a post), please be aware that these interactions are public and may reveal your association with our practice. We encourage clients to be mindful of their own privacy when interacting with our public posts. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly.
4. Direct Messaging
Please do not use social media messaging systems (e.g., Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Message) to contact us for scheduling, clinical questions, or emergencies. These platforms are not secure, and we cannot guarantee the protection of your confidentiality. For all communication related to therapy services, use secure methods such as phone, email, or our client portal.
5. Following and Endorsements
We do not follow current or former clients on social media platforms. Following clients could potentially compromise confidentiality and blur professional boundaries. Additionally, we do not request endorsements, reviews, or testimonials from clients on social media or other review platforms to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic relationship.
6. Client Reviews
If you choose to leave a review or testimonial about our services on social media or review platforms, please be aware that doing so may publicly disclose your status as a client. We cannot respond to reviews in a way that confirms or denies any therapeutic relationship due to confidentiality obligations, but we appreciate your feedback and encourage you to contact us directly with any concerns.
7. Social Media Content
The content shared on our social media platforms is intended for educational and informational purposes only. It should not be considered a substitute for professional therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult with your therapist for any personalized advice or support regarding your mental health.
8. Emergency and Crisis Support
Our social media platforms are not monitored for crisis situations. If you are experiencing an emergency or mental health crisis, please contact 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
9. Changes to the Social Media Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this policy as needed. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
